Goal vs Objective
In this step, you can type in your company goal and add up to five objectives to help you achieve it.
What is the difference between a goal and an objective?
A goal is a broad and aspirational statement of what an organization, team, or individual wants to achieve. On the other hand, an objective is a specific and measurable outcome that contributes to achieving the goal.
Why limit the number of objectives?
As per OKR methodology, there are a few reasons why it is essential:
Clarity - by limiting the number of objectives, it is easier to keep them clear and concise
Focus - having too many objectives can dilute a team's focus and resources
Prioritization - setting a small number of objectives forces teams to prioritize and choose the most important outcomes to focus on
Alignment - by setting a small number of objectives, it is easier to ensure that they are aligned with the overall mission and vision of the organization.
