The Workspaces enable the separation and management of different business units or teams within a single Jira instance, providing customized settings, permissions, and reporting for each unit.

Below you can find examples of how workspaces can be used in your company:

1. Business Unit Workspace

Workspaces provide a way to separate and segregate several business units or departments within one Jira instance.
Allowing you a clear overview of progress across different branches of your company.

2. Private Workspaces

You can create a workspace that will be completely hidden from everyone except users added to this workspace and your plugin administrators.

3. Workspace Permissions

Setting different permissions for a user across different workspaces enables control over user access and actions based on their roles and responsibilities. Here are the default permission levels:

For example, the CMO could have a workspace admin status in the Marketing workspace, but be only a reader in the Executive workspace.

4. Different Intervals used for each Workspace

For example, one Department creates OKRs for monthly cycles, the other one uses quarters.
In this case, you can create two separate Workspaces for each Department so they can have their individual intervals.
